Ruby X Reader - Modeling

How did I get myself in this situation? My friend Ruby was using me, so he could make a dress. It was for Sapphire apparently. But it was beautiful. It was (Favorite color) and was a mini dress. It had a big bow on the back on my lower back. Ruby was always good at making clothes and he did like to make things beautiful.

Ruby accidently stuck me with a pin. “Ouch, Ruby,” I said.

“Oh, Sorry, (Name),” he said. “Just a little bit longer and it will be done.”

“Alright,” I said taking in a breath and then holding my sides like Ruby wanted me to. “So this is for Sapphire?”

“Y-Yeah,” he said.

“She’s lucky then. It’s beautiful,” I said looking at myself in the tri-mirror. Ruby mumbled something. “I’m sorry. What did you say?”

“Uh, N-nothing,” he said.

“Ruby, is everything alright? I mean I don’t think this dress will help much with Sapphire,” I said. They were on the verge of breaking up. I didn’t know much about it just that they were on the verge because every time I saw them together they were unhappy and they ended up fighting.

“I know,” he said. “Wait how did you know about that?”

“It’s obvious with how much you two fight and you never fight with her,” I said.

He backed off. “Alright done,” he said. He went back to his desk and held the sides and bent over it.

I went over to him and rubbed his back. “Ruby, it’s alright. You can talk to me about this,” I said. “You know I’m here for you.”

“It’s just . . . I really thought Sapphire and I were meant to be together. Because of our pasts but it’s not enough for her. She just keeps on making fun of how I like fashion and . . . he took a piece of fabric and threw it across the room. He sighed and then sat down in his chair. This was really bugging him. “That dress isn’t even for her. We broke up last week but I’m still trying to work it out.”

“Ruby,” I said. “Then why did you make it?”

“To clear my head. Get me something to focus on,” he said.

I leaned against his desk beside him. “So who’s it for?”

He smiled. “I thought that was obvious. To the person who is wearing it,” he said.

I smiled too. “Thank you. I love it,” I said. I kissed his cheek. “You really are too sweet. Sapphire doesn’t know what she just lost.” He looked up at me with pain in his eyes. “What’s wrong? Did I say something wrong?”

“N-No,” he said. He got up and said, “I just realized something, (Name). You’ve always been there for me and usually know what to say. Why? Why do you care so much?”

“I . . . I . . . well you see I . . .” I said. I had always had a huge crush on him. But since he was always with Sapphire I suppressed that.

He rubbed my cheek. “I see,” he said. “You are a great friend. Though that’s not what you want is it?”

“Ruby, you make it sound like the only thing I want is to kiss you. That’s not the case. I want you to be happy. I mean of course I’ve had a crush on you for years. But since you were dating Sapphire I didn’t pay attention to it. I mean you’re a lot cuter when you have a smile on your face. And . . . and . . .” I said. A huge blush grew on my face.

“(Name)?” he asked. I looked at him and he was blurry. I was crying? Why was I crying? Because I was telling him this stuff. He faintly smiled. He got closer and then said, “I like you too. After hearing this I’m kind of happy we broke up.” He caressed my head. Then whipped away my tears. “By the way you’re a lot cuter when you smile too.”

I hugged him and then kissed his cheek but he moved and made me kiss him on the lips. They were so soft and warm. I loved it. It felt like Beautifly were fluttering around in my stomach. He held me tight and it felt so right. So perfect.

We broke off and his ruby eyes were so soft and loving. “(Name), I’m so stupid. You’ve always been there for me and I was oblivious to it. Please forgive me.”

“R-Ruby,” I said. “It’s alright. But what does this mean for us?”

“I want you to be my girlfriend,” he said. “It’ll be hard forgetting about Sapphire but I’ve always liked you like that too. So I hope you’ll be happy with me.”

I smiled up at him. “I will but one thing. Can you please stop sticking me with pins?” I asked.

“Sure,” he said. “I’ll get better about that.” Then we kissed again. I guess being used for a model has it’s advantages.
