Riley X Reader - The aura connects us part 2

It’s been about two weeks since then. Riley and I moved our campsites closer. He liked my spot better than in a cave. We would actually train together. I found out he wasn’t that bad. We actually got along and laughed together. It was fun with him around. Kind of funny he wanted me to leave so badly but after awhile he didn’t want me to leave.

We would often look up at the stars together. Like right now. I was laying down and he was sitting up. Our Lucario became friends and would often train with each other. I think that’s what they were doing right now.

“Riley, do you ever wonder what happens to fallen stars?” I asked.

“Fallen stars?” he asked.

“Once they fallen out of the sky they can never go back,” I said. “What happens to them?”

I asked because I was kind of like a fallen star. My parents didn’t like me being an aura guardian so they kind of kicked me out. They’d help me out and all but they thought it was a phase and they hated it. I kept telling them it wasn’t a phase and it’s something I really wanted to do.

“I don’t know. Maybe they go to a different sky,” he said. “Well that’s being a little too hopeful isn’t it?”

I sat up and looked at him. “Riley? Is everything alight?”

“Yeah,” he said lowly. I got a little closer to him. “(N-Name)?”

“You’re not telling me something,” I said. “If you tell me. I’ll tell you why I asked that.”

“When I was younger I couldn’t be an aura guardian. Laughing stock of the family. So I guess I too was like one,” he said.

I giggled. “Same here. But backwards. I don’t tell normal people this kind of stuff because they make fun of it. Thinking I am faking it. My parents thought it was either a phase or I was making it up.”

“I didn’t think someone like you would understand any of this,” he said.

“Someone like what?” I asked.

“Someone as cute as you. I mean you look like you got along with your family. You know that type but . . .” he sighed and rubbed the back of his head. He was so cute when he was nervous and embarrassed. I think over the past two weeks I’ve grown a crush on him.

I smiled at him. “What?” he asked.

“Nothing,” I said.

“What are you smiling at?” he asked.

“No reason,” I said.

“Hey, we trained pretty hard today. We should get to sleep,” he said.

I got up. “Alright. Night, Riley,” I said.

“Night,” he said as I walked to my tent.

Next morning it was the same thing. We woke up and I made breakfast. Riley would wash the dishes as I cleaned things up. After breakfast I told Riley I was going to take a bath in the stream. So Lucario stayed with Riley and his Lucario.

It was going normally until I got out and got dressed. Someone came from behind me and covered my mouth. I screamed but it was muffled. “Hush now darling,” the voice said it was a man. Not Riley someone else. I squirmed and held on to his hand. “I wouldn’t so that sweetie.” I tried to send distress thoughts to Lucario but I didn’t think it was working.

He was a lot stronger than me. I kept trying to move but it got harder and harder. I started to cry as the man laughed. “That’s it sweetie, get tired. Wear yourself out.”

“Let go of her you bastard!” Riley’s voice yelled. Soon the man was hit strait in the face and I fell to the ground. Now I was happy I was fully dressed. “(Name), get back to the campsite,” he said to me. His eyes told me he wasn’t messing around.

I got up and ran back there. I didn’t stop until I was in my tent. Lucario was in there. I was held by him until Riley came back. “(Name)? (Name)? Where did you go?” he asked.

I practically bolted out to hug him. Once in his arms I felt safer. “Whoa. (Name).” He said. “I told you it was dangerous around here. Men loose their minds here.”

I shook a little. “W-Why haven’t you then?” I asked.

“Because I have someone to keep me grounded. I got worried when I heard your voice in distress, you know,” he said.

I looked up at him. “I was calling Lucario though,” I said.

He looked down at me with those big blue eyes of his. “But I heard you clear as day. As now or when Lucario talks to me,” he said. “But we never made a connection. Maybe it was natural.” We had an aura connection without working on it?

“Riley,” I said softly.

He held my cheek and rubbed under my eye. His eyes were so soft right now. He leaned down and kissed me. His lips were so soft and warm. He wrapped his arms around me and I felt so warm. I felt loved. Unlike any other boyfriend I’ve had in the passed. This was utter love. I held onto his shoulders and deepened the kiss. I wanted more of him.

We pulled back and his eyes were so soft and nice. He then held me. He put his hand on the back of my head. “(Name), I promise no one will ever hurt you again. Not while I’m around.”

I looked up at him. My face was burning and it felt like millions of Starly were flying around in my stomach. I was like putty in his hands. “D-Do you mean that?” I asked.

He smiled. “Of course,” he said.

I was so happy. Riley was always going to be there to protect me. And I knew he could. I felt safe with him and it seems like we were meant for each other. No one understood us like each other. I guess you could saw the aura that connected us was strong and we didn’t even have to work on it.
