Diamond x Reader - Camping

I was really nervous now. I didn’t really want to be on this trip but my one friend Diamond convinced me to come on it with him. They we’re my ‘friends’. Diamond was but not the others. They used me to go on Diamond’s good side, since we were best friends since we were very little. Dia never left my side no matter what he was always there for me.

I mean Dia was always there for me. He really cared about me. When I was younger I got bullied a lot and he was always there to stand up for me and hold me whilst I cried. He was such a sweetie and he still was. I was a really lucky girl to have him for a best friend. He got popular and most deserted me but no. Dia made time. Even when I got psyched out he made me come, hence this.

Right now I was in the very, very back of the van. All the girls were with Dia and the guys in the front seats. They were practically throwing themselves at the guys. Now I was happy I was shy. I mean I hated to even think of doing what these girls were doing right now. I mean I get it you have other girls trying to get attention but if the guy says no then go with his judgment otherwise you’ll just annoy him. So why do that to them so you can get the attention?

We got there and set up the camp sight. We set up the tents; mine turned out to be far away from everyone because they told me one spot and choose a second spot. The camp site was rather small. There was the van we came in, my tent, the girl’s tent, Dia’s and then the two other boy’s tents, and three logs around a fire. I loved that we could see Lake Acuity lake front from here. All the snow on the ground and the waters were so calm.

I knew right then and there that’d I’d probably sneak off . . . well I didn’t really have to sneak no one here but Dia liked me or even knew my name, so I could just walk there but I’d be spending most of my time there anyway. The thing here was these girls that we were with were also my bullies. They loved to pick on me and I didn’t know why. I never spoke up in class, I kept to myself, I never did well anything to be frank.
Dia came over to me and said, “See? It’s not that bad out here, (Name).” If only he really knew. “I saw you checking out the lake. I knew you’d love it.”

“Yeah I do. I think it’s amazing. Well you knew that,” I said and got my bag out of the van. I was surprised nothing had happened to it to be honest.


“Yeah I did,” he said taking his bag. “You’ve always loved wildlife and seeing the Pokémon. It’s kind of cute in a way.” A normal girl would have blushed at that and started to flirt with him but Dia was my friend and I knew he didn’t mean it like that. “Um, want me to carry your bag?”

“No, I’m fine,” I said. “Thank you. What I’d like you to do is get your hair out of your eyes. You look better when you can see your eyes.” I loved his eyes they were like a frosted lake. So blue and yet pale but in a good way.

He nodded and then moved his hair. “Better?” I nodded and then got my other little bag. “So um, why are you so far away? Is it because of Platinum’s hairspray? Don’t blame you. I could move my tent closer.”

“No, that’s fine. I’ll be okay,” I said.

“Alright. I’ll see you around I guess,” he said. “Let me know if you need anything alright?”

“Okay. I will,” I said. I then left for my tent again.

Once I was in there I began to think. Dia was acting a lot different than usual. I wondered if he was alright with everything. He wasn’t usually shy, he was always outgoing. He was also nervous and he was only nervous before a Pokémon battle. This time he really was cute in that way. I mean he was very cute and attractive but he’d never go for me and that’s what I kept telling myself.

After awhile I left to the lake. On the way there I felt as though someone was following me. I didn’t pay attention to it. I got there and smiled. I loved it hear as I heard the Pokémon singing. It was amazing and a breath taking sight. I turned to see if someone was following me and I saw my foot prints and someone else’s but they weren’t there anymore.

So I went back to looking at the lake when I felt a hand on my back and then the sharp cold water hitting my face. I swam up and shivered. The water was so cold, so very cold. I looked up to see who it was and it was one of my bullies, Katelin. She laughed and smiled. “How’s the water, klutz? Maybe now you’ll stay away from Diamond.” She laughed as she left.

I crawled back out and I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I went back in my wet clothes. I knew in survival you’d have to take off the wet clothes but my tent wasn’t that far away. When I got back in I saw my clothes and bags were in a tree. I needed to get out of these clothes. I went to Diamond’s tent and shook it a little as a knock.

Dia opened it and then was happy to see me and that face soon went to worry. He pulled me in a put a blanket on me. “How’d this . . .? No, my bag is right there. Please change into my clothes,” he said and then left. I did as he said and his clothes were so warm. After I had them on I pulled him back in. “Alright what happened?”

“I was pushed i-into the l-lake,” my shaky voice said. I went up to him and held him as I shook. He held me close and was so warm I never wanted to let go.

“You’re so cold,” he said. He then leaned on his newly caught Arcanine whilst he held me closer and covered me with the blanket. “Who did it? Katelin? Platinum?”

I didn’t want to make this worse but I knew I had to tell Dia. He was my best friend and wouldn’t do anything to hurt me, so I told him the truth. “Katelin. So I’ stay away from you. I knew she and the other girls were jealous of me for being so close to you. I don’t understand why though.”

“Because there’s something you don’t know. They act that way because . . . because,” he said. “Agh, I can’t say it so I’ll show you.”

He then grabbed me face softly and leaned in for a kiss. I blushed knew it was coming and my heart beat started to race. I soon felt his warm and soft lips on mine and I blushed as I held his jacket more. He held my waist close to him and the other hand on my neck now as he guided me into the kiss. I moaned softly and he held onto me more and deepened it more.

We soon broke off and I was a blushing panting mess as I held onto him more for heat. “I really like you too,” he said.

“I like you too, Dia. I guess I’ve only seen you as a friend before this,” I said.

“I know. I wanted more than that. I’ll protect you from those girls. I won’t let any girl or guy hurt you let alone touches you. I want to be the only one to touch you,” he said. I giggled at statement. “Wow I love your giggle. It’s been forever since I heard it.”
“You’re so silly. You know that?” I said.

“I’ve been told that once or twice before but I like when you say it. How about you get some rest? Don’t worry once you get to sleep I’ll go on the opposite side of Arcanine.” He said and held me.

“Good. You’re so warm and I want to get warm,” I said.

“Well that’s actually Arcan- . . . alright,” he said.

I don’t remember much after that. I was so cold and so tired. I thought I imaged it until I found Diamond on my lap the next morning. After that I realized I didn’t hate camping as much as I thought and this trip was actually amazing. Who knew I’d like camping so much?
